Established by
Tsinghua University, Tsinghua Science Park combines its unique
technical and human resources with innovative companies and
ambitious young entrepreneurs. Tsinghua Science Park offers
excellent services to high tech and Research and Development
companies, becoming the home to both domestic and foreign
start-up businesses.
Beginning with an existing Tsinghua Science Park development center, Tsinghua
University began construction on the Science Park in 1994 with
the intention of making it the most innovative science park in
China.
The majority
of construction was completed in 1998, and Tsinghua Science
Park became one of the leading business projects in Zhongguancun,
an area where Beijing¡¯s top universities, colleges, and research
institutions are located. International companies interested
in benefiting from China¡¯s new ¡°Policy of Innovation¡± are
attracted to this innovative and creative environment.
Conveniently, Tsinghua Science Park
has direct access to the 3rd and 4th Ring
roads, subway system (Xizhimen), and numerous bus routes.
Tsinghua
Innovation Park, a satellite park of Tsinghua Science Park,
opened in 1999. In 2000, the Ministry of Education and
the Ministry of Science and Technology acknowledged Tsinghua Science
Park as the one of the first national university science parks
in China. Tsinghua Science Park¡¯s outstanding reputation for
excellent incubation services for high tech companies extends to
both national and international communities.
In 2002,
Tsinghua Science Park was named a ¡°National High-Tech
Innovation Service Centre¡±, guaranteeing long-term growth and
development for the park. In the same year, the ¡°Tsinghua Innovation Park Bio
Tech Incubators Centre¡± was launched in order to broaden the
scope of industries represented at Tsinghua Science Park.
Tsinghua
Science Park was awarded ¡°The Best Practice of Science Incubator
2002¡± by the Netherlands Science Federation for its sustainable and
pioneering business concept, attesting to Tsinghua Science Park¡¯s
international success and recognition. In 2003, Tsinghua Science Park
became the
first Chinese science park member of the
International Science and Technology Association.
In 2004, the
Tsinghua Science Park celebrated its 10th
anniversary, finally becoming a fully equipped and completed
campus. Although total completion of the park was finished more
recently in 2005, Tsinghua Science Park is continuously
evaluating and improving the quality and range of services
available to tenants. Further construction plans were released
to meet the increasing demand for Tsinghua Science Park¡¯s
excellent business environment.
